One of our boats

Boat Diving opens up a wider variety of reefs and wrecks, and is the diving industry's version of 'ski-to-door' - no long surface swims at the end of your dive!!

At West Wales Diving Center you have two choices when diving from boats:

RIB Diving.....

is fast, fun and furious, enabling you to quickly access awkward or distant dive sites, hence spending more time underwater than on it. You'll enjoy the ride almost as much as the diving, especially if a pod of dolphins decide to play in your wake.

WWDC Rib Charter

Our Boat, appropriately named BIG BERTHA is a 7.5m Ocean Pro Humber Rigid Inflatable, with a 250 HP 4 stroke engine, commercially coded to carry 12 divers. She is equipped with the usual safety equipment - liferaft, O2, flares etc and can comfortably cruise at 40 knots.

Jellyfish

We can accomodate upto 24 divers a day, doing 2 dives each, ie 12 divers per trip with 4 trips a day

We have the ability to launch on either the North or South side of the peninsula, meaning regardless of the prevailing winds, we can normally get you out somewhere.

Our diver embarking points are usually Martins Haven, St Brides Bay or Dale Marina, depending on the intended dive sites, to which you'll return in between dives to take your surface interval on dry land. There is shelter and toilet facilities available should you require them.

Departure times are usually 0900/1100/1300/1500 hrs from embarkation point.

All our skippers our commercially endorsed, first aid trained, and most importantly, they’re all divers too. This ensures that on the day, we’ll get you to the best dive-sites we possibly can.

Hard-boat Diving.....

for those of you that wish to have a day out on the boat, or require a more stable platform to dive from eg technical divers, then we can arrange for a local hard-boat operator to take you out.

The embarkation point for diving from the hard boats is Milford Haven or Dale, approximately 15 minutes from the shop.

Boat Diving Regulations

We require that all divers are qualified with a recognised agency - PADI, BSAC, SAA, SSI etc, to a minimum standard of PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent, and provide proof of this prior to diving.

All Divers must have eperience in British sea diving conditions, and previous boat diving experience(unless with an Instructor)

All divers must be equipped with adequate exposure protection, an audible signalling device, a delayed SMB and an alternate air source. A dive computer is highly recommended.

Buddy-less Divers

We accept divers without buddies, with the understanding that we will allocate you an appropriate buddy in the same situation; providing they are in agreement of course. We prefer buddies not to dive in threes, unless conditions like good viz allows.
